Art, Craft, Design and Textiles with Personal Development
Course Outline
The Textiles course provides an in-depth introduction to the textile industry, merging creative design with practical skills. Students will have the opportunity to craft a variety of textile products, including cushion covers, children's apparel, and home décor pieces. This course emphasises hands-on experience in textile art, printing, and production techniques, while also examining textiles' significance in fashion and interior design. By the conclusion of the course, students will have created a diverse portfolio of textile projects that highlight their design and technical skills.

Level 1: Health and Safety in a Practical Environment, Measuring and Cutting Skills for Garment Making, Manufacturing Sewn Products, Using Commercial Garment Patterns, Art and Design: Colour Theory and Design, Teamwork, Using Fabric Decoration to Produce a 3D Piece of Textile
Level 2 - Design Software, Teamwork, Undertaking an Enterprise Project, making a Garment, Preparations for Employment in the Fashion Industry, Common Measure: Shape, Health and Safety Procedures in the Workplace, Sustainable Fashion
